I suddenly realised the other day what a fan I am of Jeff Lynne & the work he did with ELO. I think subconsciously it has influenced my style of songwriting. All Over the World must rank as one of my favourite songs, and it makes sense: according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_Light_Orchestra) they were masters at combining classical sounds with contemporary ones, something which I am also busy doing with my music. But maybe it's just because his music brings back such great memories of my childhood: the wonderful holidays we spent down in Durban at the beach, watching movies like Xanadu and Two of a Kind with Olivia Newton-John. I was so young back then! Well, there you have it... Ciao
