Mom, You Raise Me Up!

Did my first-ever album launch last night, after many, many years of dreaming about doing it. It only took me about 20 years, and I'm so glad I persevered... As much as I'm tempted to feel regret that I didn't do it when I was younger, I remind myself that I wasn't ready 5 years ago, let alone 10 or 20, and I'm just glad that I can look back in 10 years' time and feel totally satisfied that I lived my dream, and am still living it. I'm sorry that my dad couldn't be there with us at the launch - he passed on 10 years ago. But I'm really, really glad that my mom was there. As a tribute for her 60th birthday, which was in July, and as a way of honouring her and thanking her, I sang You Raise Me Up. Standing ovation, I tell you! What a feeling... Some of my friends came and told me afterwards how many a woman - and even the odd man - cried through the song. Of course my mom did... Mom, I love you, and I'm so glad I could do that for you. You're cool, and you're awesome, and I love you. Rob.
