As the Americans would say, who woulda thunk it? I vowed never to go back to my old school for a reunion of any kind, but 22 years after we did our first school tour, the Duke of Cornwall Singers reunited at St Stithians College for an evening of song last night. It was great to see everyone. We're all a little older (!!!) and much wiser, but we had a ton of fun. It was also wonderful to see my old high school music teacher, Moira Schäfer, who is still going strong at 70 and continues to teach music and choirs down in Knysna. It was Moira who first got me singing at weddings when I was 16, and those were my first paying gigs. Man, I've been doing this a long time now, and I still love absolutely every minute of it! Thank you Moira...
