Senza Voce: The B Mus Album
Rob Rodell
My 16th album debuts today, 13 December 2022 - my late father’s 78th birthday. I know he is really proud of me.
As you know, I’m a singer first and foremost, and I love to sing. In the immortal words of the late great Olivia Newton-John, singing is my happy place.
But I’m also a songwriter and, by a stroke of good fortune, now also a composer.
More than a decade ago, I started on the journey of doing a Bachelor of Music degree, which I had always wanted to do. For many people, a degree in music may seem unnecessary and could be regarded as an impediment, but for me, it has actually helped me become a better musician.
Anyway, as part of the degree, we had to create a number of songs, some with vocals (which you will find on some of my past and future albums, and some without vocals. I have taken the bulk of these songs without vocals, and put them onto an album called “Senza Voce,” which means “without voice” in Italian.
I guess this makes it more of a classical or jazz album – nothing like the House or electro stuff I have done in the past, or the classical stuff with vocals. But I don’t like to waste music, and so I decided to package it and release it as an album, and this is it.
Musica, grata Deo.
